I then set them all back to 1514 and ran with standard MTU and was getting speeds of 3.39Gb with 2 parallel connections, adding more connections doesn't seem to speed it up any this is the max I seem to get. I have done some more experimenting with Iperf3, I have set all my 10Gb adapters to use a package size of 9014 and the same on the ports on the switch, when running iperf in this mode I get a max of 1.18Gb even when using the -M 9000 or 9014 switch. I thought iperf didn't use the disk to run speed tests, if it does that could be a bottle neck and I will attempt to create a ram disk. The CPU on the machines are not taxed in any way, I don't use RDMA as I don't think my adapters / switch support it. Tamosoft reports the speed in megabits per second, not megabytes. I have tested with the 1Gb adapters disabled, and the speeds remain the same. I have a habit of using the shift key too much! Yes I have 10Gb not GB adapters, sorry for the confusion. Have put iperf3 on both machines and I am running iperf3 -s on the server and iperf3 - c -w 1020k -P 4 and its returning the results below, I tweaked the amount of streams and the window size, these seem to be the best results I could get. I thought maybe TamoSoft isn't designed to test 10GB effectively, so I set up Iperf3 I have updated all firmware and hardware on both the blades and switches. So the 1GB network seems to give what I would expect, whereas the 10GB (20GB effectively) is only running at 20% or 10% if you take the team into consideration. Running the same test on a 1GB connection on the blades I get 617Mbps down and 462Mbps up. When I run tamosoft between the 2 blades I get around 1850Mbps down and 1150Mbps up. The backplane on my chassis is 1.1 which is for 10GB support. I then have BCM57810 10GB adapters in each blade. I have a blade chassis with 2x M8024-K 10GB switches installed.
